First thing we are going to do with our chorus is we are going to learn how to do a bit of a beat, a little different from some of our lessons. For example, you take this C chord, in front of your C, and for the beat we are just going to use our left finger on the C and then we are going to play out too. This is hard the part for beginners but just practice that and gives you a little bit of a beat for the song.
Then, when we get up to the next chord which is the G7, there is your G7, if ever we are going to play it right, we are going to do the same thing, it takes a little bit of practice. You can use that for a lot of songs that have a beat to it, you are going to break down to your C again. Good exercise to practice so you can set it with your left hand which is usually the hardest of the two hands.
So, let us go through the first part of the song and we stared off with an E here right, and up to your G, back down to your C again, let us try that one more time here. We are going to bounce our left hand starting off with our E note here under our right hand, up to your G7, moving back and forth, back to your C.
The next session is pretty simple because we are going to stay on our G chord there, G7, same chord then go back down to your C. Pretty simple, we want to use two chords, but it is that rocking action that you have done, again to be used here. Let us go through that part again starting with your F note here and your G7 chord down here, and go back down to your C, okay, now that is that section.
The next section is pretty simple because we are going to hang in to our C chord here for most of it and add the seventh if you can, do not worry if you cannot hit that C7, just keep playing the C. So here we go, staying on the C here, it is where the seventh goes in, and up to an F. Let us just do that part again. I mean do it without the seventh, okay. I will show you where to add it, but this is just to keep it simple. On this, that is where you would add it there, we are going to stop with this timing. Now to your F, that is a little bit of extra song but you do not need it. Let us do it one more time, we will do it with out it okay, keep it really simple for you. F chord, okay that is that part, okay.
Now, we are in the trickiest part of the song, but we are near the end so if you have gotten this far now, you can do it on your own okay. We are going to start from an F chord, we are going to an F minor, so do that. Now we are going to a C, that is the first three we are gong to use.
Right hand we are up on this E note here okay, going to your F minor then down to your C. Let us do that one little part before we move in to couple other harder chords, F, then F minor, and down to your C.
Next chord is you’re a. So you are going to slide right here then down to your D and your G7 and back to your C. That is the end of the song. So let us do that whole section nice and slow. Do that a few times because it is hard. We are on your F chord, F minor, down to your C and with your A down to your D, your G7 and head to your C, then start over again.
I am going to go through that section one more time because it is tricky. Hang in there, if you did not get it, F chord, F minor down to your C, then to you’re a, down to your D chord, G7 and then to your C, from where you started it from. One more time on that because I know it is tricky, F chord, F minor, down to your C, up to you’re A, to your D, G7 then there is your ending on your C there.
Okay so let us do the whole thing now, okay back starting on your C chord, G7, back to your C, G7 again, back to your C. Second half, C7 if your want to fit it in there if not F, down to your F minor, down to your C, then up to your A, then to your D, G7 and a C. You want to play it through twice. So, when you get to the end of that, get right down to the beginning, I will just show you here. Okay just going back to the beginning again.
So, good luck with that and have lots of fun with it. It is a wonderful fun Christmas song to play and hope you get over to my website at www.mrmusiccanada.co
