Hi, I am Bob from Toronto, Canada. This guitar lesson is about how to play “Us and Them” by Pink Floyd. This is how I like to play. First of all, two needs tuck E string down one full tone down to D.
[Demonstration]
So, the sixth string and fourth string had the same.
[Demonstration]
Now, there is only really two parts of the song which makes it pretty easy. The Into and Verse and the Chorus. The Intro and Verse are the same. It is played like this. I will show it first and I will show it how it is played.
[Demonstration]
And so, first part of the Intro and Verse. Starts off as a D chord, play like so. So, you play the top D string.
[Demonstration]
And play the D chord as arpeggio broke it up.
[Demonstration]
Play it twice. Next is a Bm chord with the D at the top. So, it is D at the top.
[Demonstration]
And play each note separately arpeggios.
[Demonstration]
Play it twice. Next is a F#m7 chord. This can be played a little different because you have the top string tune down one full tone. So it is here top string, III fret; fourth string, III fret; third string, II fret; second string, II fret; and bottom string open. And once again same pattern,
[Demonstration]
So, you are playing all the strings except the fifth string as an arpeggio and that is played twice.
Next is a G chord. That one is the top string, V fret; fourth string, V fret; third string, IV fret; second string, III fret; first string, III fret; and once again, same arpeggio pattern. So it is.
[Demonstration]
That is plays twice. And that is the Intro and Verse. Then the Chorus is played like this.
[Demonstration]
And that is a D chord.
[Demonstration]
Strum few times.
[Demonstration]
And put your pinkie on the fifth string, IV fret.
[Demonstration]
That is C# there that moves to beat Bm chord.
[Demonstration]
Play that a few times.
[Demonstration]
Then lift first finger and play the A string open which is the fifth string.
[Demonstration]
Play that. Next chord is GM7 which the top string, V fret; fourth string, IV fret; third string, IV fret; and second string, III fret.
[Demonstration]
And last chord is a regular C chord.
[Demonstration]
So, once again.
[Demonstration]
And that is pretty much the whole song. I have tabs that are available for this guitar lesson on my guitar lesson website, www.bobsguitarlessons.50megs.com and thanks for watching.
