How to Play Using Down Stroke Picking Technique

Hi I am Stewart Bull from licklibrarytv.com and welcome to this lesson on Up Strokes. In this, all down strokes are often used to create a very aggressive sound. And sometimes you get this which would be discussed in another lesson. This is a great technique but it kind of makes it sound a certain way. Makes this sound very rock or maybe a little bit like this as well. There are other types of music such as blues, where you might want to be aggressive but you do not necessarily want to get that type of sound. And one of the ways that you can do this is by using up strokes because it does not produce the same type of pitch harmonica idea. It also gives a nice, aggressive emotional sound but does not lock you into that kind of rock and metal type of thing. And it is in the sound a little bit more like this.

Okay, it is kind of hard to use all that strokes but I think and agree by using this undecided of the plectrum, you just get a nice, clear, aggressive sound. And if we combine the two, even in blues music, we can get some really aggressive sounds from the up stroke but also has a different more of rocky, metal sounds from the down stroke. If we combine them both, there is a much stroke. Have fun.
