Hi! This Andy James from LickLibrary.com and in this tutorial, we are going to be looking at an Atonal lick which is pretty crazy sounding and will pretty much work in any situation. So here is the lick and then after that, we break it down.
Okay, with this lick, we start in the tapping on the 20th fret on the A string. I am going to pull off to 12 and then hammer on 16 on the low E. Then we are going to tap 20 on the low E, pull up to 12, and hammer on 16 on the low E. So we have got this. And then, we are going to repeat the first beat again. So that is the pattern. We let you stay on the same fret all the way up to the high E string so we have got this.
Okay, so same pattern all the way up to the high E string and a little bit quicker. Okay, and then what we are going to do is we are going to stay on the high E string in the B string and we are just going to keep that pattern and move it up a fret each time so we have got this. So that is the pattern. So tap 20 on the E, pull up to 12 on E and 16 on the B, 20 tap on the B, 12 and then 16 and then first B again. Then repeat that pattern up each fret. And then, the last time, you are just going to repeat it twice and then end on the 24th fret. So, slide some full whole lick so it should sound like this. And up to speed.
