Hi, this is Andy James from licklibrary.com. In this tutorial, we are going to be looking at wide interval tapping and it is going to be a lick on the key of A minor. So let me just play the lick for you and then we will break it down. Okay to start off this lick, we are going to be using the A on the pentatonic scale then for the second of the lick we are going to shift into fifth position, first position and then second. So basically, we are going to be playing that but it is not in an octave so full notes. So the tapping is going to be on the 12th fret as well and we are just going to tap and pull off like this. And, the first lick is going to be 12, pull off to eight, pull off to five on high string. Skip over the bass string and then play 12 pull off to seven, pull off to five on the G, so we are going to have this then we are going to continue down on pentatonic scale.
I am starting on the B string this time, 12th fret, pull off to eight, pull off to five, skip over the G string. Play the D string on the 12, seven and then five and 12, seven, five on the G same on the A then back to the D then 12, eight and then five on the lower E. So far we should have this. And then we are just going to go back up. So far, going back up the scale as well is this is what we should have. So when we get to the lower E string, we are going to skip over the A, goes to the D then back bounce the A and then finish with a tap on 12. But if you are wondering what is there with your left hand, you can also fret the nine on the second fret as well and then we are going to shift. Leave a tacking finger to the 17th fret and we are not going to be playing any other fret at those with the tapping so we are just staying on the 17.
And on the left hand, we are just going to hammer on three and five in the lower E. Tap 17 then do the same thing on the A. Move to the D string and play five to seven. Tap 17 then play the G. Five to seven have been tapped 17 then we are going to pull off and go back down again. So 17 tap on the D pull off to seven, pull off to five then we are going to hammer on again and go five, seven then up to the G string. The final shift, we have eight to ten on the B string, still staying on the 17 and to the tapping notes. Then the seven high, then pull off coming down. So we have 17, pull off to ten, pull off to eight then we have 17 on the B, pull off to ten on the B then we are going to bend up eight on the B string and a whole step. So the whole lick slow should sound like this. And once again up to speed.
Okay that is the end of the tutorial and I hope you have enjoyed learning, until next time. Keep strumming.
