How to play A minor Arpeggio using Sweep Picking
Hi, this is Andy James from licklibrary.com. In this tutorial, we are going to be looking at Sweep picked arpeggios. I am just going to play through the set of arpeggios. I have got three and I will break them, so here we go.
Okay first of, the arpeggio we are playing is an A minor. Let me start on the 12th fret on the A string. Basically, I am not picking in the individual string. We are just going to drop the pick or push the pick through the chords, kind of like that. And then you just angle the pick the other way.
Okay so starting on the 12th fret on the A, bend to the 10th fret on the D, 9th fret on the G, 10th fret on the B, 8th fret on the high, 12th fret on the high as well. And then pull off and come back the other way.
The we are going to take that same arpeggio and using exactly the same right and left hand technique, and starting from the 14th fret, we have got a B minor arpeggio. So together, so far we have got this.
Now the next to arpeggio is going to be major arpeggios. And the first one is the C major. So starting from the 15th fret on the A, we have got 15, 14 on the D, 12 on the G, 13 on the B, 12 and then 15 on the high. Then back down. So same sharp again. Then we start in from the 17th fret on the A this time. So, 17, 16 on the D, 14 on the G, 15 on the B, 14 then 17 on the high and about down again. At slow tempo, this is what we have got.
Then we are going to play an E minor arpeggio and we are starting on the 19th fret on the A string. 17 on the D, 16 on the 6, 17 on the B, 15 to 19 on the high. Okay, so what is different about these is we are actually going to move from the arpeggio position that we finish in so another arpeggio position to come down in. So go up in E minor, down to C major. Then we are going up to D major. Then we are coming down to B major.
And then we can just bend for the 15th fret bend on the B string. So a slow tempo, all the arpeggios together should sound like this. And up to speed.
Thanks for watching today’s tutorial, until next time. Keep strumming.
