Okay, the final part of the song that we are going to look at today is the melodic sub-hook that comes at the end of the chorus. This is the many part of the song for my opinion is. It is just a great piece of bass playing. I play with the metronome then we will talk through it.
Okay, I just want to refer to the PDF too because there are some parts of the song where it plays to that pattern slightly longer before it goes down to the F sharp or it plays the F sharp twice before it goes back to the verse. Anyway, again note wise very, very simple. Three notes you are looking at are C sharp which is 4th fret of the A string, A which is 5th fret of the E string and G sharp which is 4th fret of the E string. Now, the rhythm that we are going to play is this.
And then, that last long sustained note is purely an F sharp second fret of the E string and it is just held occasionally twice before you go back to the verse. Also, what is great about playing it that way is once you go back slide from the G sharp down to the F sharp, you are back into position to play the verse which always comes after that. So, you are keeping hand movement to a minimum which is a really good thing to try and get into that hobbit of.
So, that Message in a Bottle. Look at lesson nine where we are going to look at a great baseline "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen, the very underrated John Deacon, etcetera, etcetera. Email if you got any questions. I will see you next time.
