Okay, I want to show you a little of rhythmic technique, couple of tricky things here. I’m just doing an E7#9, 2nd finger on the 7th fret, 1st finger on 6th fret of the 4th string, 3rd finger on the 7th fret of the 3rd string and then the pinky on the 8th fret 2nd string, and then you get this low E. So you brush down your fingers then you lift them up off the strings, because you’re still touching the strings to get that muted sound. That’s the chord part of it.
Now the other tricky part is, I want to do the E but I want to mute the string after I play it.

And then when I do the beating, I’m not going to worry about hitting that string there because my thumb right there is reaching over the fret board and muted it. All 5 or 6 strings.
[Demonstration]
If I lifted it up, it will be.
[Demonstration]
And have to try the, or use my right hand to mute it.
[Demonstration]
So I lift my thumb each time I want to strum down up with there on the chord and then when I’m going up put it back again.
[Demonstration]
You can hit twice.
[Demonstration]
So go and practice. It’s quite tricky.
[Demonstration]
With the thumb.
[Demonstration]
Left and with my finger I’ll put it down here and then these fingers are off around the strings so just muting the strings by lifting them up the fret board of it.
[Demonstration]
So it’s a combination of muted string muted with your thumb, I’m not doing any palm hitting with my ring and—
[Demonstration]
You can try different rhythm with that as well. Give that a try.
