Now you have your mining and your fabric sewing together right sides out and press. Its time to pleats your swag. Layer panels fabric side up with your top edge of your swag laying towards you, that’s the short curve edge and I’m going to pin here a little bit so that you can see what I mean. The larger curve edge is away from you and the shorter one is towards you. You can start on other side to start to pleat it doesn’t matter. We’re going to go ahead and start on my right side and you start with this corner here. You’re going to fold your fabric where the triangle inward here and your first fold is going to have this piece actually fold under aligning this right edges here. Aligning the right edges and tucking it everything under like this, okay.
So here is your piece, I want it to align a little bit better of that actually and you may have to shake and fold your swag to get your fabric to do what you want to do but there’s underneath part and there’s out lace and you want to pin this and place ideally. You want it to pin it twice like this.
Now from here and out you’re going to use this line as a guide and you want all your pleats to line along a straight edge going across. So you start with this next one here and again you’re going to fold at that end piece and you’re going to align this rough edge down with both edge. So when fold it, you bring it down as long how you cut the shape things. The girls are fold down this quart to aligning the wrong edges here when we want it so that everything is kind of turn so that this is to start to create a straight edge. Take this pin out here and you would do pin this in place and again one more time about half-inch thin okay and you could continue.
You take this edge here, fold it up. Fold edge at this pointer here aligning with our edges. Now the camera in front of me here so that you can get the best possible angle pleating so I might touch the camera here and there so I’m doing this. I want you to see how this is done and at the end if kind shake and fold that fabric so that it turns for you a little bit like that.
Now it doesn’t have to be perfect, just neat. Making that edge straight as possible, it could make a big difference and then you go and style it all right. And then one more time here plus one, hold it and then like that, okay thank you. And then place and I’m going to get this one here and get in place. Okay so this is a strange looking edge here but it’s okay because when you go and install it this is actually outer be hidden.
Okay, so now you have everything pleated on one side and pinch twice. Now what you want to do is you want to take it to a machine and sew straight edge, one inch in from the both edge here and try to keep this as straight as possible while you’re doing it. It’s not actually curving on just a little bit so do a little pull when you’re running with through the machine, one inch in put all the way across to secure those pleats.
