Posing a shot especially with kids can be really tough either because they would sit still or when you finally get them in the pose they look totally unnatural. Here are a few tips that can help. Hick Rex might over it. Give your kids an activity, have them jump up on the count of three or run towards you while you shoot them continuously. This creates tension on the shot. Something we as parents do not need in our lives but in photographs can actually make things much more interesting. Use props; simple props like a flower pinwheel lollipop or sunglasses can be fun and help you get a beautiful shot. Your kids will become engage with the prop and forget you are even taking a photo. Try snuggling then under a blanket or have them blow on a dandelion. Simple objects can work every time.
When your child just would not smile, shoot it anyway, funny quirky faces can enhance your photograph instead of trying to calm your wild child go with the flow and you just may capture that memorable moment.

You do not need to eye contact to get a good shot. If your child is a little camera shy focus on the interaction and what your child is doing. Sometimes the best moments can be captured when your subject is not looking directly at you. Now, you know the secrets of capturing the perfect shot.
