Host: What should I do if my children cry when they hear that we are separating?
John Spiegel: My view of this is that crying as well is laughing is part of a natural healing process that we have. Understandably, parents don't like to see their children to cry, they don't like to see their children suffer. When the message that's been conveyed is we are separating, our marriage is ending, we are going to get a divorce, parents of course are very sensitive to the feeling like what else that we are causing this pain.
So, they may wish that the crying would stop. My advice to people is that the crying should be treated as like blessing tears, well because it's part of the healing process.
