How to Prepare For a Camping Trip

I don’t think that flash starts in here. I’ve got some cord I won’t bring it. It’s a duck decoy lands it’s not as good as 550 cord but it’s good just for tying and some simple stuff and no big deal. All right, here we go GPS now maps I try to practice what I preach. Topographical maps, GPS and I have got a compass in here. You’re supposed to have a compass on here’s my flashlight. Now, my compass is in here somewhere, but anyway it’s not I’m going to find it, rain poncho and rain pants and whenever you're out hunting, you’ll never know when bad weather is going to come in on you, okay it’s just great. I've got my compass that’s missing. All right, hang on. All right, now my compass is not my compass. It goes with the topographical maps which goes with the GPS, so all right I’ll pass with the bag pack. Now, okay whenever I'm out to woods and I’m doing an overnight hacking camping trip I try to bring some copies of survival manual with me. Nobody knows at all, okay so this is a Department of the Army, Headquarters Department of the Army field manual that being 21-76 Department of the Army October 1970. Now, I like to keep my GPS and stuffing what I’ve got here junk and more junk. I’d like to keep my GPS and my compass either in the top pouch and just for demonstration. I’d like to keep my GPS and my maps my compass either in the top flat of my Alice pack or and I’ll open it up inside this first patch, so whenever you stop for a rest break you don’t have to open your main compartment of your packed up and go rummaging around whenever you stop for a rest break you’re going to take your can tins out. You go and great the drink, you go and take your GPS and compass out, well instead of having to open your pack up if you have it right here you can open this up, pull this out, pull your GPS out, pull your compass out, pull your things out while you’re taking your rest break, get your position tips, find your bearings, get your heading and blah, blah, blah and you’re good to go. Whenever you’re ready to get back on the road your pack is still closed up just like what you had it, put your GPS your compass and your map back up in there seal it, but some people aren’t comfortable with just the Velcro holding it, so the next step is inside of here this second pouch, so that’s where I keep my water filter because I have to use it a lot. You’re in the summer on a hiking trip so camping trips. If you’re hiking alone, try to cross a stream and whenever it’s 90 degrees outside you’ve got to go to water quick so the water filter is the second much use component up inside of my pack. Water, GPS, compass, water filter reflects the water and I have a couple of MRAs inside of your boots. Now, I’ve got a stand here for my stove. I’ve got a liquid fuel stove. I thought about bringing it but I don’t know. So, I’m going to leak the stove out for right now, but I have some powers to order I’ve got some matches I’ll show them in the top pouch. Now, bring this alone because this works really well. This is your US Army poncho leather. This works really well inside of your bag. Add up inside of there. This is like believe it or not this I can extend this like five days worth of food. There’s three meals in here. Three meals per day for three days. Three to four meals and so are you going to bring this just in case we’re going to have some bunch of people out there just in case somebody forgot some dinner, need to little pass or for noodles I’ve got my taco bell hot sauce and all kind of stuff in here. All right, flashlight and definitely I’m going to have a couple of this with me LEDs. Now, notice where just above I have not—this is a Maglite and I have not change the bulb out to an LED depot so forget all that. It goes up here some small stuff, cotton balls and hang on. Okay, I found what I was looking for, it’s my Bible. This is a King James Version Old and New Testament. It’s got a stainless steel plate inside of it and it says, “The Lord is my strength and my shield” from the Psalm 28:7 and also the plate keeps it from bending and a very small print. I keep this Bible for a very, very long time. It goes along for hiking in and camping trip I go on. So anyway, that goes in there. I’ve got some Neoprene gloves. In case you’ve never seen Neoprene gloves. They go on like that. They’ve got the Neoprene for the solid grip. Now, we’ll go on supposed to go. I’m feeling this on Thursday. We’re not going in two days but a week and two days that will fall on Saturday. There’s that. It’s a heat cover, but this seems in a little or extreme cold weather it’s real thick real big I don’t want that one. I want the smaller, lighter duty one, still good. It still got your face, your nose covering your head cover on it I’ve got in there toilet paper. Always bring TP with you because you’ll never know and for whole of our cunning and raccoon hunting it night this is a LED cubing and if you don’t have one of these you might want to consider getting it. This thing is bright right enough to cun and raccoon con hunt red hunt all kind of not. And it runs of a four double A batteries whenever this runs out I’m going to replace more rechargeable. Try to go 100% rechargeable batteries even in the double A. All right, well we are getting there. I just can’t find that little other flashlight I’m looking for no it’s not this one it’s not the little Maglite I’ve got in here, but I’m not going to back off not only if I get caught and I’m going to mount this on the side of my pack over here and my stool I found this out much of little hunting stool. It’s got three legs on it. This actually belongs to my son but it’s—I'm borrowing it for a little while, and this thing will go just about anywhere. Well, let’s do our three legs we’ll see it almost anywhere. The stool with four legs will not, so I’m bringing this on the camp and trip for my comfort and whenever I want to sit around the camp fire that way I can be off the ground a little bit because it supposed to be cooled but anyway well, that’s the story to get and Mike here together, and I will be back with you later.
