Travis: I'm Travis from Missoula, Montana. Now I was wondering what steps I can take to prevent back pain at work? Michael Stuart: Well, that's a tough problem Travis back pain at work is a very common condition and we see it in many, many people. There are ways to prevent it. The most important thing to do is to exercise the back muscles and the abdominal muscles we call that the quad group which can reduce stresses on your lower back. You must also be careful with lifting and carrying because improper technique can lead to injury. I think it's also important to do some postural exercises and hopefully that will help you prevent a back injury at work.
