How to Prevent Blank Fields in Access 2007

If you have a database and if you’re seek of scene blank fields in your table, you can easily fix that by making certain fields mandatory. So to do that, go ahead in, in your table lists right click on the table that has the field if you want to make mandatory and go to design of you. Go ahead and scroll if you need too to select the field that you would like to have mandatory click on it and down here under general you’re looking for required and by default there are set to NO go ahead and click on that NO and chose YES. In this will make sure that work in number is required for everything you put into your database. One note though is that make sure that your really want that required sometime there are a needs for partial information to be put into a database.
So, make sure that that really needs to be requirement. Probably not a good idea to make all your field required just incase your missing a piece of an information that you can get later. So, I’m going to go ahead and close this and save it. And you can see here I do not have all this fields in I just have a one work phone number and most of my clients have work numbers so it’s says that it’s going to test my data with the new rules. I’m going to go and say YES and it’s says that it violates it I have work numbers required and I do not have all my work numbers. So, I’m going to go and click YES to keep the setting and then when I open this up I need to go ahead and enter all of my work numbers or I’m going to continue to get that error. And of course setting that those fields to mandatory whom will ensure you that you get less blank fields in your database table.
