Ok, I love this part of the Epson Stylus NX. Ok, what we’re going to do is we’re taking the computer completely out of the equation and we’re going to start printing our photos directly from our camera’s memory card. You’re going to love this. It’s so much fun. Let me show you how it’s done.
The first thing to make sure is that you’ve got your camera’s memory card inserted into the proper slot here and you’re ready to go. Then go over here and select the ‘Memory Card’ button and that’s going to bring up all your options for printing from the memory card. There’s a lot of different things you can do here. You can view and print photos, print all photos, print by date. There’s so many options and it goes on and on. So if I want to view and print my photo, I’m obviously going to make that selection and press ‘Ok’ to proceed. Alright, so this is going to show me the different photos that I have on my camera’s memory card and I can use the arrow keys as indicated here to shuffle through the pictures on the memory card. So let’s go through here. Alright, let’s go with this one.
Down here at the bottom you’re going to see a setting’s option and it looks like this little icon here corresponds to the menu button down here on the keypad. So if I select that, it’s going to give me different options for how I might want to print my picture out. Do I want it letter size? If I want to see the other options available here, you can see that there’s a little arrow icon pointing off to the right. This corresponds with the right arrow key. So by pressing that, you could see that I have other options. So if I wanted to make this five by seven, I’d simply select that and then click ‘Ok’. I can make the same selections for the paper type, lay out, I can leave it borderless or I can put a border on there if I wanted to. ‘Quality’, ‘Standard’, usually the best option for you. ‘Expansion’, this has to do with the borderless feature and how much the picture will be expanded to fill in that border, that could poke in around the edges. Once I’ve got everything the way I want it, I press ‘Ok’ and I’m done.
Now the other thing we can do here if we wanted some more adjustments to the image itself is to press the ‘Display / Crop’ button and you can see here we’re going to get a lot of different ways that we could interact with our photo. This is my favorite part here. Pressing it once will give us this yellow border around the picture. Now, I can use the arrow keys to move this around. I can use ‘Plus’ and ‘Minus’ to zoom in or out of the photo. I can use the ‘Menu’ button to actually rotate the photo and when I’m done with the zoom and I like everything, then I just hit ‘Ok’ and it’ll show us what we’ve got. So let’s try this out. Alright, maybe zoom out a little bit with the minus key, oh, too much. Zoom back in, move it over slightly. Let’s try rotating it and see what that does. I can either undo this by pressing the back button as indicated there or if I’m ready to go, I hit ‘Ok’. Alright and there’s the picture the way we framed it up. All that’s left to do now is to hit the ‘Start’ button and we’re off and printing.
And in the end, it’s just that easy to get your nice glossy prints or matte, or well there’s just so many options you can go with, four by six, five by seven, and hello, letter size matte. Is this not cool or what? Yes, yes it is. That’s the correct answer. Of course it is cool.
