Hi there! I am Karen Erickson with Slipcover America and I am here today to show you how to put your slipcover on a chair so it will stay in place.
You know over the years, I have learned all sorts of tricks of how to get your slipcover to stay in place, but you know the number one thing is to have a slipcover that is made for your furniture.
First, we are going to go ahead and put our slipcover on from the front of the furniture to the back. So we put it on our arms. We get kind of fit it in place. Now we are ready to fit the arm area or the tuck in are here into the furniture.
A lot of people, when they have a slipcover they want to just simply tuck this all in nice and tight. But when somebody sits on this area, the deck area, when the cushions on it and somebody’s body hits on it, you will go down and then come back up and the slipcover will come out. So, I am going to show you how to tuck it in, so it does not move around.
Let us take the inside arm area here, and we are just going to tuck into the arm. Now let us take the inside back and the inside arm and we will tuck that. We will do it on both sides. Now that we have had both sides tucked in from the arm areas here, we are going to go ahead and take this extra fabric and just fold it in like that and lay it in underneath the arms. Let me show you that a little bit closer.
So you take this extra fabric right here, we are going to fold it here and then we are just going to put it in underneath this arm. Now you have extra fabric that you have for your tucking in the back and this simply is going to tuck down in just like this.
Now you are able to tuck your corners in, and viola! You are able to put your cushion on top and now sit on it, without moving your slipcover.
