How to Raise the Draw Weight of a Survival Bow Safely
This is how to raise the draw weight on a bow. I even make a survival bow so I'm working this flat bow. To make this lighter bow, it doesn’t really matter how it looks and be find it’s a bit too weak. This is one way to make your draw weight on that. We’ll find out what this bow but first we’ll —
[Demonstration]
About 12-pound and 24 inches.
[Demonstration]
The bow has got this and must follow as it’s already bent with it. Let me take it off. I'll take as many sticks that will fit over at the back of your bow. This one on take two and cut them so that just you pull your string knots.
[Demonstration]
So there, just like that. So you got your sticks the same length from knot to knot of the bow. You can shave these sticks out of there or you can use bamboo and you put them on, tie on that end there, finish it on the end, and now alternate it. We have the fit end and if I end up with it.
[Demonstration]
So begin by binding on your sticks on the end.
[Demonstration]
Bind it as tight as you can.
[Demonstration]
Now flip it over and do the other one around.
[Demonstration]
Now that seem very good but and as it all with the situation and we got them all in. We get them how it looks then. Now bind it again each side opposite the handles.
[Demonstration]
So you want to bind it here, here, here, here, here and here so that goes you may need to do some more. I'll finish up and show you in a minute.
[Demonstration]
So the bow is done on the two sticks on it.
[Demonstration]
Not to straight not up a bit as well.
[Demonstration]
What I do now is I put it back on the scale again and see what got in there.
[Demonstration]
It’s now 43 pound now, so now it’s 43 pound about 24 inches when it was I think it was 35 about 24 inches, now it’s about 43 or 44. Doesn’t look much, doesn’t look very good and the survival trying to get—it doesn’t matter but good on that. This is going to kill something to eight.
[Demonstration]
