Male: And you know a lot of times when you’re building any kind of project like this, the only successful once are the once that start off with a good set of blueprints. But many times home owners have a little difficulty really figuring out what the blueprints mean.
Male: I’ve actually seen courses offered on the internet on how to read blueprint and as a home owner you can go to that extend but let me show you about three things that I think are really important to understand.
First of all is the scale, almost every residential plan is drawn to quarter inch scale which means her one quarter of an inch on you’re blueprint that’s going to be equal to one foot on the job site.
Second your window designation, the four numbers that you see beside he window will indicate the width and the height in feet in inches. For example, here on today’s edition, we have our case in the windows; we have two of them that’s that 2-2640 that means its two foot six inches wide by four foot high.
Finally, it’s always good to understand that your utilities now here’s another blueprint that actually has the utilities drawn out on it. And even if you don’t understand where all the light and looks, ceiling fans and the plugs and what they are right beside your plan you should have a simple legend which makes it a lot easier to understand.
