Jonathan: Andy, genital herpes can present to the number of ways. The typical presentation is some painful blisters that arise in the outside of the genital area and then can burst or crest over and go away over the course of about a week or so. Sometimes people with genital herpes don’t have any symptoms at all and can even transmit it to their partners without knowing it. Other times genital herpes can just cause some mild itching or minor skin irritation but if there’s any question of all that herpes is present, usually you should go see a physician or healthcare provider to have an exam to look for it.
