How to record your Xbox 360 gameplay

Hey YouTube, I had a request on how to record your Xbox 360, so you could basically put it on YouTube. Most people know how to do this, but I’m going to show you how to do it. I have two ways of doing it, recording with a video camera. This video cam is what I use to record my own videos and let’s call it a capture card. If you don’t know what that is, this is what I use. It’s called a dazzle platinum. This is probably the best thing you could use for a capture card. So, I’m going to show you how to record, put it on YouTube with a camera and with the dazzle platinum. You don’t necessarily ask how to dazzle a platinum just to capture card in general. And I’m not that good with video tutorials or tutorials at that in any way, so if you’re laughing and sticking x on my—just probably laughing at this right now, well, shut up. So here we go.

Okay. If I want to record with a video camera, I’d get a tripod and set it up at a level position with my TV and then I’d record. And then what most of you don’t realize is you have a capture card. And I mean, if you have a video camera, you don’t want to see your TV like this like you could sort of see my TV like right here. And that’s the top of my TV and the bottom of my TV. Now, I’m going to go over to the way to record with your capture card. Okay, if you’re using the dazzled platinum or any other capture card, I’m going to show you how to set it up now.

First thing you’re going to want to do is connect it to your computer and I’m going to pretend that my PS3 is a computer and we’re just going to connect the USB to the computer. And not like an idiot friend like a lot of my friends DC Revolution. He put the USB from the dazzle platinum into the thing and we do the Xbox USB thing and he expected it to just start recording it automatically without doing anything, but he’s a retard so yeah. This is your computer on PS3/computer. Plug it into USB. Try it on. Eventhough it’s probably already on. The reason I’m turning it on is if your computer has some problem with the dazzle, you’ll have like a red light or something but if it’s all good with it, it will have like a green light and I don’t know. My PS3 is going to do it or whatever.

Now, you need what’s called an AV cord. Yeah, that’s what you need. And now, it’s going to look like this. Yeah, that’s twigging you to basically split your connections, so you are not looking like I’m your little computer thing playing video games and you don’t want to do that. So, it will basically hook the video connection to your computer and to your TV, so you can play on your TV and record at the same time. If you want to record in black and white and not have the AV connections, you can just plug in the HD cables that came with the Xbox. I don’t know where you would plug them in, but that would go black and white. And on your TV, you just plug in the yellow, red, and white cables, but we’re not going do it that way.

So, if you have the AV connections, you’re going to plug them into this now. The AV splitter can connect them into that. And my—is about to hack over my 360 XP then, what you’re going to want to do is you’re going to want to get your composite cables. You don’t know what composite cables are? They look like this. Now, if you have the AV splitters, you’re going to plug your Xbox tables which look like this into your AV splitters first. And I’m going to do yellow, red, and white. And I’m just going to plug them in. Now basically, if you don’t have AV cords and you don’t want to do the—that I said earlier, that’s the AV cables and whatever, you’re going to have your video appear on your computer if you open up Clinical studios 10 that came with the dazzle platinum, or whatever software—

Anyway, yeah, that’s connected. To where? So, after you’ve opened up your Xbox or I mean, your software in your computer, it records your capture card. I’m using Clinical studios. I’m not going to show that in the video because I’m just a retard and don’t know what I’m doing in my tutorials or whatever. Basically then, when you open up your software, you’re going to hit record. And you’re going to record your Xbox and you’re going to have a video on there, which is going to be your Xbox. And it’s going to record your Xbox 360 gameplay. And now, if you’ve never uploaded a video to YouTube, I’m going to show you how to upload a video to YouTube right now.

Okay, what you’re going to do now is you’re going to go to Upload. You’re going to title your video. I’m typing here in the random crap because I don’t really need to type in stuff. And then, just upload your video. To upload a video, then go to browse. It will start uploading. Also, most people leave out in their videos that on the back, around the end of your Xbox 360 cables, the side that connects to your Xbox says HDTV and TV. Switch that to TV when you start to record or else basically, you’re going to get a blank screen.
