Jonathan Smith: Hello, and welcome to EnviroTip where together, we are making everyday, Earth Day. I am Jonathan Smith. And today, we are going to look at what we can do to keep all the broken electronics out of the landfill.
Electronics contain hazardous material like lead and mercury. Recycling e-waste will help keep these materials out of air, water and soil.
Over 500 Million computers and 130 Million cellphones are needed to be disposed up this year alone.
So, if your old cellphone or computer still works, donate it to a media organization. Drop off your old stereo to thrift store, or someone else to enjoy. And if your electronic device is finally discrashed, take it to the appropriate recycling center.
Thanks for joining us and for making everyday, Earth Day.
