Female Speaker: Gary and Susan's arts and crafts style kitchen is almost complete. Now it's time to finish installing their appliances.
Jeff Devlin: Alright, so every thing is installed and really cool thing is we put the microwave at the minimum height. So, that way it's easy for you to get it.
Sue Scheiner: I can reach it!
Jeff Devlin: That is perfect.
Lauren Lake: This place used to be a black and white dated disgrace. But now it's a beautiful eclectic, arts and crafts style kitchen that fits perfectly in this mission style home.
Sue Scheiner: So what do you think.
Gary Scheiner: I love it.
Sue Scheiner: Me too.
Lauren Lake: The shine who was out of this world, black and white kitchen is now a thing of the past. And we did it all for $31000 staying within our budget of $25000 to $35000. The budget break down looks like this. Stained oak single cabinets, reach natural granite countertop, the porcelain tile floor and backsplash, new white appliances, all brand new lighting and of course, the man power to make it happen.
Gary Scheiner: We had an black and white kitchen. There was no color. It was dark and cold.
Sue Scheiner: Kitchen totally goes with the rest of the house now and incorporates in so many of the colors that we love, the green and the ambers, and he wood.
Lauren Lake: Art and craft design style is very simple. It combines clean lines, metal, eclectic accessories, textiles, and lots of different textures. And it really fits great in this mission style home.
Gary Scheiner: We have this incredible oak wood cabinets, it's gorgeous. And I love the greens, I love the glass in the cabinet.
Sue Scheiner: And the storage, remember those ridiculous semicircular cabinets.
Gary Scheiner: Look at that. You could fit in it.
Sue Scheiner: So much stuff.
Gary Scheiner: And we have this incredible countertop that I picked up. In this light, you really see all the blue flex, and gold flex and silver flex and it just really --
Sue Scheiner: It's beautiful.
Gary Scheiner: We have lights that don't blind us, that don't bake us.
Sue Scheiner: It's a complete change from what we had. And we had a real-light finally, in the pantry. And watch this, it's magic. It goes on by itself.
Gary Scheiner: Check this out! White appliances, white appliances, white appliances. And I love this, this is huge, the bamboo countertop.
Sue Scheiner: Yeah, it's an amazing work surface. And I actually cannot wait to start cooking. It's perfect and you know we didn't need the seating here here because we have this beautiful custom made bench that we all did together.
Gary Scheiner: I love that part of it. That it's a family project. This is where the family is going to be. I built the bottom, you built the top.
Sue Scheiner: And all the storage in the bench is so great because we took off the doors of the hutch. You know we opened it up, more surface area to display our pretty things.
Gary Scheiner: It's such a great center piece in the kitchen out.
Sue Scheiner: And the hardware on handle looks great. It's really turned it into a beautiful piece of furniture.
Gary Scheiner: Yeah.
Sue Scheiner: So, what do you think about our new kitchen?
Meredith Scheiner: I love it!
