Lauren Lake: We transformed this cramped outdated kitchen into a freshed, clean, eco-friendly space. I am sure Mother Nature will be proud of.
Female Speaker: We have turned this kitchen Eco-sheik. This old cramped kitchen was not living up to its potential. So we opened up this space, went green and stayed within our budget of $30,000-$40,000.
Drusilla Buscemi: No more iron.
Dave Buscemi: No, no more wall.
Drusilla Buscemi: No more wall.
Dave Buscemi: I think this is great.
Drusilla Buscemi: Yeah.
Dave Buscemi: It's so open and airy and spacious, and bright.
Drusilla Buscemi: Yeah, look at this, we have a whole new area and we have got breakfast bar stools over here, so that means people can sit here.
Lauren Lake: My overall design concept for this kitchen was to create an environmentally friendly space, and still have lots of super design and style.
Female Speaker: Spending a total of $37,050, we've put an Eco-friendly light bamboo cabinetry, stainless steel energy star rated appliances, recycled glass countertops, bold 4x4 recycled glass backsplash tiles, Eco-friendly marmoleum floors, the energy efficient lighting design, the clay based zero VOC paint and of course the labor it took to go green.
Drusilla Buscemi: Look at those gorgeous countertop. It's 75% recycled glass and concrete, it's absolutely gorgeous.
Dave Buscemi: And now we want actually people to see the kitchen.
Drusilla Buscemi: Yeah, look at that gorgeous cabinetry. I really like the light color and there is the bamboo gives it a three-dimensional appeal, and look at the lovely hardware.
Dave Buscemi: The old wood cabinets were so worn and old.
Drusilla Buscemi: Look at this, we have cabinets that now actually close. How great these are, I really like the green backsplash, remember that old --
Dave Buscemi: As well the countertop?
Drusilla Buscemi: Yeah, No more orange, yet again.
Dave Buscemi: No, orange, no makeup. It's hard to believe it's recycled glass.
Drusilla Buscemi: Yeah, it looks great.
Dave Buscemi: And now we have dishwasher -- you will have to do it yourself?
Drusilla Buscemi: I have to read the instructions, how dishwasher works first.
Dave Buscemi: Do you like the light effect out for us?
Drusilla Buscemi: I can't believe that it's so bright and it's energy efficient. Now we have three options with the overhead, the pendant and the under the counters.
Dave Buscemi: Yeah, nice and bright.
Drusilla Buscemi: White ceiling. Dave, do you remember before that?
Dave Buscemi: I am trying to forget.
Drusilla Buscemi: I think the white is really great, it really opens up the space.
Dave Buscemi: They did a great job with the flooring.
Drusilla Buscemi: Well, thank you sir, we had fun doing it, it was really good. I got rid of of that old linoleum, the brine suspicious looking, that never would clean, right?
Dave Buscemi: Right.
Drusilla Buscemi: Now, we have this nice natural product. Thank you so much Lauren, Mark and Jeff, we couldn't have done it without you. We really appreciate all your support and your help, and thank you.
