How to Remove Date/Time Stamp from Your Photos
Hey, what’s up? Robert here with another PhotoShop tutorial from Robert’sProduction.net and in this tutorial I’m going to show you how to remove that pest key little tip here that your digital camera likes to put in all of your photos.
So you haven’t figure out how to turn off the date and time stamp settings and you went on vacation and took a few photos. So now your photos all have this little date and time stamp but you want to frame this and do you want to frame your photo that has a little date and time stamp at the bottom or just with date stamp? Not really, so I wouldn’t want to frame it with the date stamp. So one way you can get rid of the date is if you basically crop out the photo. You can crop out the photo just like that but then you lose that nice little ocean or water that’s coming up in here and this is one easy method of removing the date. All you have to do is use a patch tool.
So I’m going to zoom in here onto the date. I’m going to come over here to the patch tool which is how you went under the spot healing brush tool. You can hit “J” to bring that up and just select the patch tool, go around your date just like that and then drag this to the side pretty close, let go and boom. Control or Command D to de-select and that did a pretty decent job. Actually, it did a great job of removing the date and now we have the nice little lake here as well as the big hotel, resort image or house and so that’s one method of removing the date.
The second method is a more rupturing and more different colors, more difficult to remove the date. Actually, it’s not as difficult and I like this photo because look at that shopping cart out, what’s store is it for? Is that Wal-Mart? Anyway, so what we’re going to do is were going to zoom in to this date here and just in case we make a mistake, we want to come to the Lasso tool and go around this date roughly just like that and then hit Control or Command-J to bring that into its own layer in case we make a mistake we won’t have to be at the point of no return.
So now, we can come over here and I’m going to try the spot healing brush tool and you can resize or size up your brush how ever you want by using the left and right bracket keys. Obviously, the left bracket key decreases the size and the right one increases the size. That’s the fast way to change brush sizes in Photoshop.
So now, I’m just going to zoom in here into this number two and let’s see how good the spot healing brush tool does. All you have to do, that did pretty good. Let’s see. Look at that so just go over every single text and the spot healing brush tool is doing an amazing job on this photo. Look at that, even though it kind of changes, you see how it changes the background it still looks like it blends in so it depends on what kind of photo you’re using or what photo are you removing the date from.
So there you have it. We’ve completely removed the date from the bottom of this photo. So here’s the before and here’s an after. Before and after. You see there’s not much of a difference in it. It’s all gone and there’s a different tool that you can use for more complicated projects if the spot healing brush tool isn’t just quite working out for you. You can also use the healing brush tool and like I use before, you can use the patch tool. Another great tool for doing this is the clone stamp tool as well.
