How to Remove Red Eye in Photoshop CS3

I have photo here of a person who has your standard red eye which sometimes happens when you're taking photographs with the flush on your camera. Photoshop has a tool called the Red Eye Tool that allows you to really easily remove most red eyes from pictures and I’m going to show you how to use that real quick.

So first of all you want to zoom up on the red eyes on the picture so use your zoom tool from the tool box and then click to zoom up on the eyes. You need to get pretty close, you don’t have to get necessarily real close to it and then you want to go over to your tool box and actually the Healing Brush Tool is what will show here by default and you want to know—hold on your mouse button and then select the Red Eye Tool and then go over to the eyes and you simply want to click and drag over the eyes and then deselect. Now there’s pupil size you can increase and a darken amount you can increase. Most of the time I found but just the default is going to work the best. So leave those there and try it and you can always adjust those if it doesn’t work.

We can go ahead and do this one now. You could see it’s a pretty good job. If you notice there’s a little bit of red left, you can always do it again and that will go ahead and darken it again and then you can use your Alt and your Zoom Tool to zoom out and now you’ve got a picture where you’ve automatically taken the red eye out of the picture.
