So, when you download and install the Avast home edition, you can download it right here with the big green button. But you will also notice, over here are all of the features that you are going to need to know about like your free registration. I have to insert the activation key, technical features, features at a glance and a user guide.
Also, there is an installation guide and that is all right here at this web address. And if you are at our website and you are watching the second tutorial there, there is a link to this web page right above the video. So, you can come right here and download the Avast anti-virus.
Now, after you have got it downloaded, there are a number of scans that you can choose from. They are all free. This is the one I use right here. I just like the functionality of it. But on all of these scans, if you go right here to the upper left-hand corner and you left click on that, you are going to get a menu. Now for some strange reasons, my Screen Capture would not capture the interface but is right here. I am going to click on the menu button. There is the menu.
Okay, the first thing you want to do after you have got all of the updates on Avast and you have registered your copy of it—you know, remember, registration is free. You want to schedule a boot time scan, okay click on that. You scan all local disks, scan the archive files, and click on the advanced options right there. You want to move the infected files to the chest. There are a bunch of options right there, but move the infected files to the chest and then down here, click on or select S for confirmation. Then you go ahead and schedule your scan.
Now when your computer starts up again after you restart the computer, it is going to give you a prompt for that and is going to do a complete scan. After you have done the scan, you can come back after your computer starts and come to the virus chest in Avast and you will probably see a list of viruses right here and you will probably see a lot of Trojans also.
Avast is very good at catching Trojans. So that way, you will get to see what viruses went undetected on your computer with the previous anti-virus program that you are running. We do not necessarily recommending that you reinstall that virus program whatever it was because if it allowed a bunch of viruses to get through, it is really not protecting your computer very well.
Well, thanks for watching our second tutorial on spyware and virus removal. The processes that we are going to take you through here step-by-step takes a little time and it takes a little patience, but it does take all of these if your computers have already been infected.
Now, once you get the infection removed, it is not too bad to block it and keep it from getting infected again and we are going to show you how to do that, but it is going to take a little time to remove all the viruses and the malware in the first part of this step-by-step procedure. If you need tech support, we have tech support for you. You can reach us on Skype and we hope you will follow in to our next tutorial in which we are going to show you another really good piece of anti spyware software that you can use to keep digging a little deeper into your system and removing more and more of the infection that is on there. Most of the time when I clean computers, I would see anywhere from 500 to 2000 different infections.
So, if you started into this process and you are finding a number of infections, you have to be aware to the fact that you are just gong to have to take a little time with it and dig deeper to get rid of all of it. Once you get rid of it, and the rest of it is fairly easy.
