Welcome to our second tutorial on spyware removal. Now, the reason we do these tutorials is because we do not want your computer to look like this. It is a big piece of cheese and it has a lot of holes in it. I know you do not want that either. So, here we are on our website, spyware and adware removal and blockers.
Now, if you have already watched tutorial 1, in the first session, we showed you a piece of software that will start removing spyware, adware, and other forms of malware from your computer. Now, if you ran the scan with the a-squared and you found infections on your computer, it is time to go to the next step. Now, if you have not run that first scan yet, we want you to go to tutorial 1 and get your free software right there.
Download the a-squared free. Run the scan with that. Watch the tutorial. And then when you have done that, come back to our second tutorial here. Okay, now if you have done the scan with the a-squared and you found infections on your computer, it means there are some problems there that we need to clean up.
One of the problems is that, in addition to any type of malware, spyware, or adware that may be on your computer right now, there are probably also a number of viruses that got passed your antivirus program. Every time I have to clean a computer, I find that the antivirus program normally is compromised. In other words, it is letting viruses through and they come through almost like a swarm, I mean with all the other email worms and the Trojans and the malware and the Trojan downloaders and all of the other mess that comes on to the computer. Well, it seems like the antivirus is also compromised.
Now, these happens even when it is a well-known name brand antivirus or antispyware program. The very best ones and the very best names no matter how much you pay for can still fail. Unfortunately, every nutcase on the internet has learned how to crack some of these programs. So, you have to assume if you found any type of infection on your computer that there is also a virus infection.
Now, in order to get rid of that infection, you have to remove the antivirus program that has been compromised. And you have to install a new fresh antivirus program with a new database and start scanning your computer with that. Then, you are going to start finding the viruses that are on your computer.
Now, the antivirus that we recommend for you is this one right here. This is the Avast antivirus. Now, Avast is absolutely free for a home PC. There is no cause involved here and this is one of the best antiviruses you can find anywhere. There is a paid 4 version with the professional edition that is good for business networks and things like that. But for right now, we are just going to be talking mostly about the home PC and the needs of the individual to get rid of the viruses and other infections on the computer.
Now, before you can uninstall the antivirus program that you currently have on your machine, you would probably need to turn it off. On the Avast for example, I can right click down here and just stop the “on access” protection. That makes the uninstall process a lot easier. Most security systems have something similar that have a control panel or settings panel where you can turn the program on and off and turn all of the features of it on or off.
