Okay, so I have this new project and that is to match this bed frame to the mirror. Okay, you can see this is really, really yellow over the years. But what I am going to do is show you a real easy way that we can take the yellow out of this without actually repainting the whole headboard or re base cooling it and everything like that. What we are going to do is real simple.
So, what I want you to do is mix up a glaze master and we are going to make this with just a creamy off white and what this is going to do is take out the yellow. Whenever we put a whitish glaze or off white glaze over something, it cools the yellow out of the color. It is just that easy. What we are going to do is this is the cup of coats because we really got ways to go with this. There is a huge color difference. So here, let us just try this.
Rub some of this in here and kind of wipe it off a bit. Soften it with a brush and there you can see where I already—I already have taken the yellow off this piece of furniture. So, here you can see exactly what one glaze coat is doing to absolutely shift the color on this piece of furniture. It is great to have that done now.
For the second coat, what I am going to do is mix up a color that is just a little bit closer to this so it is going to be kind of brownish, a very light and a little extra glaze and so it is very thin glaze and just rub this on for the second coat. And that will just like keep the color in a little bit better. Okay, so you can see we are getting it pretty darn close to the mirror.
However, with the cup of glaze coat, you kind of washed up the freckles that are on this piece. So to put those back in, it is real simple. Just mix up a brown paint glaze mixture, nice and thin. I got a little brush and we will just going to splatter it on this piece of furniture. Just flip the brush. There we go, we are finished. It pretty much matches the mirror and it was not that difficult to do. It was actually quite easy.
