You must have caught me; I’m getting ready to tear down this wall. You know it’s some kind of fun to do demolition work, but I want to show you a rookie mistake that you might make if you’re trying to tear into some dry wall like this. It’s really, really simple, let me show you what it is.
So, I’m only taking out this wall, and I don’t want to damage this wall right here. Well, even thought I can’t see it, I’m reasonably confident that the dry wall finish used paper tape maybe even meshed tape, and he taped this corner so it looks beautiful. If I stop tearing into this wall, and start pulling pieces of dry wall out, I’m actually going to pull that tape here and really pretty much kind of mess up this wall. So there’s no need to do that, all you have to do is take a razor knife like this and simply cut through that paper all the way down the seam so that when you actually take this piece of dry wall out, it’s not going to damage this wall at all.
