Jessica: Welcome back. Every one has been working really hard and we have a lot to show for it. Our framing is complete, our roof is on, most of our windows are in and our demolition is complete.
The windows arrived on such a grouse day. It was pouring rain and freezing cold, but in this area of the world, that cannot stop us and you just have to pull out the boots and the jackets and keep on working.
Male: Well, the window, this is the—
Jessica: Should say--
Male: We have already framed that, does it not? We should not.
Jessica: Yes. I was so happy to see the windows and doors. And now, we can close things off and keep out the water. My door!
Male: The door.
Jessica: I am so excited.
Male: We got the red one?
Jessica: No.
Male: No?
Jessica: Joking, of course you have the right one. We have a door. We had hoped that we will be able to save the old cupboards to be used downstairs as a second kitchen. Lucky for us, the wall pulled away from the cupboard perfectly and they could now be installed in the basement.
We are on our way to order the kitchen and to order our furniture and our appliances and our rock for the front of the house and get all of that going because a lot of this stuff is 68 weeks away, and although we are still at the framing stage, we need to get this started. So, we are not waiting on any of these products.
Right now we are on our way to Rona where our kitchen is being ordered from and where our rock will be order from as well. We have chosen to order a merit kitchen from Rona. It is a maple kitchen the color called carriage black. We have also decided to go with a beautiful Rosin Art—
We decided on some gorgeous stack rocks for the bottom front of the house as well as for the new fireplace inside.
Okay, how much if I do not want to pay more?
Male: A week probably, maybe next Wednesday. Usually it comes in pretty quick.
Jessica: Okay. So we just left Rona and now we are on our way to home furniture to order all of our appliances as well as all our furniture. All our kitchen appliances we have ordered all from Whirlpool. Our dishwasher, fridge, wall oven and microwave will always same as teal.
Male: Do you have a sense of when you might need this stuff?
Jessica: Yes, in probably four weeks to six weeks. So I do not—so I ordered accordingly I guess, whenever you think it needs to order to get to get it here on time.
Male: Yes, sure.
Jessica: Because of the size and layout of the living room, we have decided that a loveseat and two chairs would work best. That leads us with enough seating room and walking area without being crowded.
The day after all the rain, we had a beautiful sunny day which allowed the roofers to complete the roof and install the skylights. Removing the old stucco siding is not an easy job. Not only that we have to take off the stucco but also the old shingle siding of the stucco over.
This is the master bedroom. Due to some unforeseen problems, the space originally meant for the on-suite has ended up much smaller than expected—where space for only a toilet and small vanity. We have decided to combine the main bath and on-suite. So I need to reconfigure this entire area to fit in a larger vanity, a toilet, a Jacuzzi tub and a large shower.
This area is soon to be the beautiful new kitchen with coverts running along this wall and the end wall. The kitchen sink will be in front of the window along with the cook top and a built-in oven on the end wall.
I am excited to see we have got a lot done lately, so stay tuned for more changes.
