Welcome back!
We have managed to get a lot done this week despite the obstacles we have encountered. The window and door installation is complete and all that has been removed from the house. This is where the original front door was that led us into the kitchen. We have now replaced it with a window and moved the front door to a more appropriate location creating a new functional and fabulous way.
We definitely had our fair share of problems this week. This on-switch ended up much smaller than expected but after discussion, after discussion, after discussion, we finally got it figured out and now just have to wait for the Jetted tub to arrive. I would like to put the door there and then slide the shower in at this end. I just got a call from Pete’s Plumbing and our Jetted tub is in which is great because the tub has to go into the on-switch before we build the final interior walls in there. So hopefully, now that we can pick up the tub, we can get it done today. While we were at the store, I also found out that our in-floor heating for the on-switch have arrived and I was able to pick that up at the same time.
My beautiful boots!
Another problem we run in to was with the waterline. Not only was it extremely old but because it is a subdivision of these two lots, the waterline actually did not run on this property. We have installed a new waterline that now runs on this property and we were definitely thankful when we found the piece of that old waterline.
Yes, you heard it right, yet, another problem to add to our list. Like the waterline did, the gas line does not completely run on this property. It starts and finishes on it but does this by going through the adjoining lot. Because we were unable to get an easement, the gas line will now have to be moved.
This week has been a very challenging week but we have made progress. I am hoping that next week goes a little easier. Stay tune to find out.
