Jessica: Hello and welcome back, we have been enjoying a beautiful stretch of weather here on the Sunshine Coast and it has enabled us to get a lot done. I am most excited about the arrival of our rock. This rock is meant for our interior fire place and also for the front of our house. After removing our inefficient gas fireplace insert and crumbling chimney, we replace it with the direct vent insert and a beautiful stocked rock fireplace.
We have had a great deal to travel with our bathrooms; originally our main bath was located here with our on-suite backing on it. Due to some problems with dimensions distant work. Instead, we have now made our main bath and on-suite to make one beautiful big main bath and a small powder room was built across the house. In the end it worked out for the best because we gained the much bigger on-suite and it turned out it was much easier to apply in the basement.
This is now the combined space that will become the on-suite complete with shower and soak or tub. This space which originally going to be the large pantry but it will now become our second bathroom a two-piece powder room.
Male: We are going to cut--
Jessica: Yes.
Male: So what I have got is—I have got a room to a foot. I think here and here.
Jessica: This bathroom has ended up almost completely across the house putting it beside the back door, which is great for those times when you come running in from outside and do not want to remove your shoes to make a quick stop in the lieu. To open up the space, we had to remove another old chimney, which holds the venting for our gas hot water tank and furnace. We found alternative venting for the furnace and will reinstall an electric hot water tank because this is an old house, we constantly run into problems that need creative thinking to solve. The wall where we need to install the washer and dryers, plumbing and venting is part of the original house and its walls are two by four instead of the standard two by six. This created some issues but in the end we seem to we have made it all work.
.
Male: Yes.
Male: Hope we dock at the same minutes because you either have to go up or down. And it is can be outside of the wall because this will not fit in anymore.
Jessica: So what if you could go down?
Male: What if we could go down--
Jessica: Yes.
Male: It is in fact where I put my drape and line. That is why we are just thinking about it right now.
Jessica: I like down better, if I can get my two bits in here I like down better.
Male: Is the dryer and the washer at Metro Brothers?
Jessica: Yes. All of our windows have come from our local glass store Dave’s glass and we are heading there right now to order another window for the bathroom we have just created. So it is kind of be the one and so would be one five.
Female: Okay so one and a half under the sizes just like we have been doing the glass.
Jessica: Yes.
Female: Okay.
Jessica: So what is the standard?
Female: Well either could be standard so one sixth would be--
Jessica: Over the last few days all our plumbing has been roughed in today at past inspection which is great because that means we can keep moving forward. Of course the day the guy has chose to pour the concrete for our front and back staircases our weather decided not to cooperate. This is into unusual occurrence here in the West Coast of Canada and although we are all used to working through the rain which we get a great deal up here. It still was highly implies in.
We have begun preparing for our siding and rock to go on. But as is been the case through out this project the age of the house has cost some delays. For the most part everything has been sorted out and we are back on track.
We are finally getting started on the exterior of our house our sidings will arrive any day now and we are ready to start our electrical so stay tune for because for some big changes next week.
