Buying a VW Beetle Bug: Heater Channel Sections
Okay, guys and here is a 1964 Bug that I just got it. I am going to show you right here, there you go. There is your heater channel, your frame support, and that is what rusts most of the time on Volkswagen, also if you go up and look in here. That is where the fenders bolt into. Luckily you have all repaired panels for that, so that is a plus.
Here is another spot right over here, there is a nice hole over right there and like I said, you can buy sheet metal that goes all along. They sell this with the screw is for you with the knots behind so you can screw it in. but sometimes what you can do is like on the fender back here these holes, what you can do is on the inside of the car take the lock of the door panel that is too is towards back seat and you can and you can actually see these holes, so if you wanted to save a little bit of money you probably could fill this or put some of your own sheet of metal there. Fill it, and then drew a hole and you can put it put with a knot and bolt. Supposed you can get your hand behind this panel to do that if you do not want to buy the strip metal that they sell to weld on there.
So that is another option that you could do. But here is what you want to look for like I said is the heater channels. Before you buy a Bug, this is what a running boards bolt into. Most of the time you get a problem of the hack that out here, see if there is a another hole back there.
So most of the time that whole channel is going to have to come out or you could buy the metal that fastening plate that goes on here. So this is some of the couple of tips to look out for when buying a Bug, so for you to be sure to be seeing this Bug up on the market wherever you probably go. We will drop it off to get it painted today and hopefully you I have to come back shortly and perk it together for you.
Take care.
