Hi, in this video we are going to talk about how to repair a cracking scene.

The tool you will need for this job is 20 min of spackle, your spackle tools, spackle pan and for this job I am going to use fiberglass mesh tape. Now it is whatever you prefer, you can use regular dry wall paper tape or whatever else they have in the market. But for me I would like to use the fiberglass mesh tape and also we have 2 foot ladder and plastic as you could see I have already lay it down.

In my preparation right here, what I have done so far is to kind of like draw like a straight line here and what I am doing is I am actually like making it flat. I am a little bit—because I want to be flat. I want to be able to work on the flat surface. I want to scrape across, knock off any high edges with the half and you hide as ever half. I want to get rid off them because I can have a flat surface. The next step is I am going to do. I have to take my mesh tape into half here. I am going to lay it on the area that is where crack. Use my blade here and make it as flat as possible and then a bit just tear it right off.

In mixing spackle, what you want to do is want to add a little bit of water at the time you when you are dealing with powder. Want to pour a little bit water in, mix it if there is enough water, a little bit more water at a time until you get into place where as so you are consistent. Now this right here is spackle that I can work with. It is not to runny, it is not too drippy but it is actually—it is on my blade. It is not like will not all off. What we have here now there is a ridge on the edge of the ceiling in the tape.
Now my first coat, what I want to do is I want to level the whole entire plain field so that we could be dealing the complete the flat surface.

Now to complete the job we are going to sand it with the sanding block. I am going to pass the paint. Now while you are sanding you want to make sure that when you sand the ceiling you do not sand the middle to hard. You want to sand your edges a little rough because you want to get rid off all of your ridges but when you sand the middle part you want to kind come across and like lightly because you do not want to sand off your repair. Okay.
[Demonstration]
Just lightly across the middle. You do not want to apply so much pressure only on the edges. Now we could start the paint.

And at this point you have successfully repaired a cracking ceiling.
