Hi! I'm Helen from eSpares. In this video, I'm going to be replacing the spray arms on an Electrolux built-in dishwasher. Now the spray arms can get easily damaged by cutlery poking through the cutlery basket or it can get so clogged up with limescale that it impedes the flow of water.
Safety first, always make sure you disconnect the appliance from the mains before you start work on it. Now you always need to know the model number so you can ensure that you are ordering the right parts for your appliance. This can usually be found on the edge of the door. In this case, it's here.
We'll start with the top spray arm; this is attached to the top basket. So we'll remove the basket completely. In this model, you simply click open the runner ends and slide the basket out; in other models, you simply lift the basket out. Now the spray arm detaches fairly easily from the basket. In this instance, we need a screwdriver, just insert the screw driver and twist and it clicks off. The new spray arm simply clicks back in place.
Now we will replace the lower spray arm. This is actually attached to the machine itself. So we just need to roll out the lower basket. Again, we need a screwdriver and we just insert underneath the clip, to release it and pull the spray arm out. The new spray arm simply clicks back into place. All the parts you see here are replaceable and available on eSpares website, including the drainage channel, the spray arm, the basket itself, the cup holder inserts and the wheels. So we are just going to slide the basket back in, not forgetting to click shut the runner-end. Again, with the lower basket, everything is available, including the most frequently damaged part of a dishwater and the cutlery basket.
You can see me replacing the upper and lower basket wheels in another eSpares video. Spray arms and all dishwasher spares can be found at the eSpares.co.uk website, along with spares and accessories for over 500 different brands of home and garden appliance. Thanks for watching.
