Male Speaker: In this video we'll show you how to replace the LCD and hinges in the Mac book here, this repair has a high degree of difficulty and the potential for injury for proceed with caution. To begin in sort of razor blade or short piece of plastic in between the silver bezel and the light gray rubber trill. Work the razor through to the other side of the bezel and then gently work the blade around the LCD.
Apply downward pressure on the side of the blade opposite to the LCD this will prevent the blade from scratching the LCD. You may want to put a piece of plastic or some other object between the LCD and the razor, which prevents scratching. Go very slowly while working your blade around the frame constantly checks to verify that you are not scratching the LCD or cutting the light grey rubber trim.
When you reach the top corner reinsert your blade and then move it your point or meet the resistance at this point take the blade out and reinsert it about a quarter for an edge pass that point. Continue working the blade until you get to the eye side camera area. When you get to that point take the blade out and reinsert it on the other side of the eye side camera area. You'll need another point of resistance again remove the blade and reinsert it a quarter of edge pass this point. Continue to work the blade around the corner and down the side of the display.
Next insert the blade on the bottom of the display has the left hinge and work it along the bottom of the display bezel. Again pay attention not to scratch the LCD are to cut the rubber trim. The bezel should now will come often of the display assembly. Next remove the rubber gray trim simply by lifting it out. To remove the LCD remove the four black Philip head screws holding the LCD to the display frame. Next disconnect the LVDS cable from the LCD at the bottom of the display. Took the display forward and then pull the LCD out of the display frame. To remove the left hinge first remove the small Philips head screw. Next remove the two Torx-T7 screws on the left hedge. Use a pry tool to remove the plastic grey insert in the hinge and never move the cable from the hedge. Repeat this procedure on the right hand side.
Now I'll show you how to reassemble, for the purpose of this video we'll be reinstalling the broken hinges we just remove. Throughout the cables through the hinges and then realign and insert the plastic insert to hold the cable emplace in the hedge. Then screw in the two Torx-T7 screws and the small Philips head screw. Repeat the procedure on the right hand side.
Insert the LCD into the frame by sliding at the end by the top down. Next reattach the LVDS cable, screwing the four Philip head screws holding the LCD to the display frame. Align the rubber trim back into the display assembly. The trim will be a little looser until you put the bezel back on. When the trim is aligned you can place the bezel back on the adhesive strips that holds the bezel in place should still be intact and will provide enough strength hold the bezel in place, if they don't you can apply some thin, double sided strips to the back at the bezel before reassembling. Also note that there in this assembly your bezel may get minor bends. Once reinstall those bends should workout and not be noticeable.
If you have any noticeable bends in the bezel you can very gently bend those out with your hands before reassembling. Be very careful if you attempt this however as you could make any bends or as soon as well.
