Part 3
Mustang Project
Removing Front Fenders
Kid: Now we're going to take this red front fender off and to do that we're going to need some tools. We're going to need a field screwdriver, half inch socket, half-inch wrench, some bags and a marker.
Kid: You may be wondering why we have to a marker and some bags. Well, actually it's the most important to step to keep organize. Being organized is the key. If you want to take the fender off, you put all the bolts divert from this fender inside this bag and then label them. The next time you want to put the fender on, it'll be all right here.
Kid: Now in order to take this right fender off, we're going to take this rocker molding off, because it covers the fender. Now it has some screws in this, so we need to get our field screwdriver and just take the screwdriver. Now we're going to take some screws and put in my little bag I labeled. It says Right Rocker Mldg.
Kid: Now I took those off and now I am going to put them screws in the bag so I don't lose them. And I am going to zip tight so it they don't fall out. Now I'm going to take the fender off and we're going to use this half inch socket and we're going to take the half inch bolts and through this one we might want to use a wrench for it. There are some bolts down here and some at the bottom.

Kid: Again, now there is a bolt here that requires us to open the door.

Kid: The fender is ready to come off. All we have to do is just unplug some wires.
Male Speaker: Alright well we get the fender off and actually the fender is not in too bad a shape. We notice on the back side that it has been repaired, you can see that there is some body filler. There are some holes there. That's where they used to fixed dents, they used to drill holes in or punch holes in the metal, and they get light hammers to pull the damage out and just body filler over it.
We get different ways of doing that now that we don't leave holes like that, but as far as the rust I think that we can kind of patch panel to repair that area fairly easy. The rest of metal on the fender looks really good. So I think we're going to look at with this fender without having to replace it. So we're a good shaped there.
Kid: We have some damage on this fender and we're going to go ahead and take this fender off and we're going to follow the steps as we did with the right fender.
