Scott Scudamore: Hi! My name is Scott Scudamore and I am teaching you how to ride a mountain bike with confidence. In this clip we are going to talk about the art of falling. As much as you might not think about, you are going to fall and it is very important that you try to relax.
I know it is hard when you are falling, but you want to try to relax and the most important thing as you fall, do not extend your arms. Most of the injuries that I am familiar within my 15 or so years of riding out here is people extend their arms, they break their hand, they break their finger, they break their elbow, they break their shoulder, you want to tuck your arms in as you roll and you've probably heard the term tuck and roll, but as you are falling, get your arms in; roll on either one shoulder or the other and then you won't have any problem.
So, as you are going to see Shawn, he is going to keep his elbows in; he is going to keep his arms in and he is going to roll; he is going to tuck-in; he is going to roll; that's it, just like that he is going to roll and he is got it. No harm, no fall, he is up, he is going, we are doing fine. So, we'd like to thank you for joining us today. We've really enjoyed being able to show a little bit of the sport that we love; if you ride with confidence and use some of the tips that we have taught you today, you'll absolutely enjoy your experiences in the woods.
