Doing that same thing on a single neck would make more sense and essentially sound the same (only difference being the same notes being played simultaneously, which may sound more full in person). Also, it would look more impressive on a single fretboard, I think. As far as I can tell, the tone is identical for both necks, and the pickups as well. Not just a gimmick, but a pointlessly flashy one that makes the guitarist seem less talented.

Simply just AWESOME! The fashion sense might not make sense to the plastic generation of kids, but anyone who can pull-off this kind of ambidexterity with such harmony deserves nothing short of awe. It sure beats the heavy thumping, repetitiously mind-numbing nonsense being passed off as music nowadays.
