Hey guys, E Mix 77 back at you with a little more Final Cut Express help. I have 3.5 not 4, so I’m got sure what features are in 4. I’m not using Final Cut Express Pro because I got an email from a fellow who specifically ask me to show him in Final Cut Express. Actually 3.5, the thing version I have.
Now this is really easy, start a tutorial. He just wanted him to know hot to make this clip run in reverse and I got a buddy named Scofilth, I found this footage and I believe he might enjoy it, he’s a sky diver. I think he might enjoy because they make some good clips to do effects on. It really is because their fast movement, there’s a lot going on and they’re just good clips to test with. So let’s do this.
So in order to double click your clip your clip into the viewer, now in order to make your clip run backwards, it’s easy. You can hit Command J to bring up your speed dialog box or you can right click, scroll down the speed. Now remember, this guy just got this so he’s just wondering how to do this and it’ll bring up your speed dialog box. All you have to do is check the reverse button, click Ok.
Now when we render this video out, it will play in reverse, see? He comes back up onto the hill and reverses in. And if you want to, Command J, keep the reverse check box check and then increase your speed to 300, making faster, this even can get this thing funny looking. Then we’ll render it out. Let’s play it. It’s that simple guys to make your clips go in reverse. It’s that simple. It really is.
So let me show you what it would look like regular. Well that’s reverse isn’t it? Let me show what it would like, regular. So you can see what it look like in reverse—this application does. Here’s the forward, off he goes, Command J, reverse check box, speed to 50, Command R to render and when you play it, he runs backwards.
So that’s just a good little way to get comedy into your clips but that’s all, that’s easy, it’s just a check box. There you go man, you wanted to know how to get your videos in reverse, there’s nothing to it at Final Cut Express. Just hit Command J after you’ve selected the clip you want to adjust, it will pull up your speed box, click the reverse check box, set your speed and you’re good to go man.
I hope this has helped, we’ll see you—
