Razor Blades are inherently dangerous things. So, disposing off them safely should be important to you. Here are a few ideas. Here is a typical modern cartridge razor. You can also see a cartridge magazine, in this case attached to the back of the razor holder. These magazines are designed to safely stores new and used cartridges with the blade facing inward so there is virtually no chance of accidentally coming in contact with the sharp edge. When you are finished with the cartridge, you place it back into the magazine, when all the cartridges are used, simply dispose off the entire magazine at once.
Here is a very common metal safety razor magazine. If you turn it over, you will notice a slot clearly labeled "Use Blades" the place you use blades in this slot and when you are out of new blades throw away the entire unit. This plastic safety razor magazine also has a blade disposal slot although you might miss it as it may not be obvious but it's used in the same way as the metal magazine. Place used blades in the slot in the back and when the magazine is empty just throw away the entire pack.
But what about blades that come in cardboard packs or bulk boxes. Now, you are going to have to get a little creative. One possible solution is to use a medical disposal container often called as sharps container. They are made specifically to safely dispose of sharp objects such as hypodermic needles and razor blades. After they are full, they can be easily sealed and disposed off safely. You will commonly find these boxes in medical facilities and high traffic public areas like airports. You can get them very inexpensively or in some cases free.
This one could probably hold several years worth of razor blades. Another option for something a little more whimsical or elegant is a child's coin bank. This actually harkens back to the days before cartridge razors and ceramic storage containers called Blade Safes were much more common. You can find coin banks very cheaply and in a wide variety of containers. But it would be wise to label the container to avoid confusion with the real coin bank particularly if children are around.
