Audra: It's a fact in love, we definitely have to eat but we don’t have to pay full price for our food. Jeanette Povini shares the tips to slashing hundreds of your grocery bill in today’s better ways to save.
Jeanette: Thanks Audra. Most of our monthly expenses are set and astound. Our rent or mortgage, our childcare, car payments, there’s no getting around it. but your grocery bill is one of the few things you actually have the ability to alter how much you spend by doing a few simple things. So here is a better way to save when it comes to grocery shopping.
Print up a news coupons. These aren’t our grandmother’s coupons and you don’t have to wait for the Sunday paper to arrive and hope there is a coupon that you need. Now you can go online and find coupons you want. Print them up and go. And be sure to look at both coupon sites and manufacturer websites. So here is the plan.
Check the grocery stores circular for sales. Plan your menu around what is on special. Search online to find coupons that match what you're buying and then stick to your list. And many times by the time you get to the grocery store, the item you want maybe out of stock so ask for a rain check. This will allow you to come back when the item is in stock and stock up at that sale price.
And combining your rewards card and coupons sweetens the deal.
Audra: Okay, on Friday’s show we’re going to tell you some better ways to save on your wardrobe.
