How to Save Money on Home Design
Rhiannon: Well we’re improving our bodies why not improve our décor, you can
give your home a sheek new look without hurthing your wallet. Jeanette
Pavini tells us how in today’s Better ways to save.
Jeanette: Well if you got an eye for design you can transform your home with
furniture and accessories that other people don’t want anymore. Check out
your Yellowpages for recycling locations near you that deal with building
materials. Stores like this one had unique fixtures, frames and other fun
objects that can transform a home and you can find just about everything
you’ll need at a steal.
Many cities have these stores located adjacent to their land fills and some
communities make sure that all materials from home remodels are reused.
You can repurpose old objects a framed mere becomes a table top, gold
spray paint transforms picture frames and you can find room sized
remnants at carpet stores and for very little money you can find used
furniture at consignment stores or many times you can negotiate a better
price.
Also check for stores that sell manufacture seconds for example a door
with a minor scratch or a pot with a small chip. Remember there are no
warranties on these items so choose your purchases very carefully.
Rhiannon: No warranties and often no returns either, thanks Jeanette. On Monday
Jeanette has some easy ways to keep energy cost down this summer we’ll
be right back.
