How to Save and Swap Icons in OS X
Welcome to Tekzilla Daily, I’m Veronica Belmont.
Those tiny little application icons in OS X are neat but most people don’t usually give them a second thought. Well, unless you are Tekzilla viewer Gualberto. Gualberto has taken notice and offers up an awesome little tip on how to save larger versions. He writes, “Just select the application you want to get the icon from, and copy it. Then open preview, go to the file menu and click on “create new from clipboard,” and you’re done!” Thanks Gualberto!
You can even apply these icons to other applications or drives. Have it copied your desired icons, select the application whose icon you want to replace, press Command I and select its icon in the upper left and paste. So, if you’re looking for a way to customize your applications or just want to confuse a co-worker by replacing their Home Drive icon with the one from chess, well, now you can.
