Helo and welcome to Chinese Learn Chinese lessons. My name is Lang and today, I would like to teach you one sentence in Chinese and that is I want to eat chicken. So in Chinese, wo yao chi ji rou. This has been a request on YouTube and I recommend everybody to send me a request on YouTube for the words you want to describe in Chinese. I can make them into such many lessons for you. So wo yao chi ji rou. I would like you to grab a pen and a piece of paper and we would go through the writing, pronunciation and the meaning of this whole sentence. Wo yao chi ji rou.
Okay so let’s have a look at this sentence, wo yao chi ji rou. So the first character wo means I and the second character yao means want. The third character chi means eat and the fourth character ji means chicken. The last character rou means meat. So altogether, wo yao chi ji rou. I want eat chicken meat. Or in English, I want to each chicken. That’s fantastic. So let’s have a look at each individual characters.
The first character is wo. So as you can see there, it’s a left and right structured character. So let’s have a look at the demonstration. How do you write this character?

The second character is yao which means want. So you can see there, it is an up and down structured character. Let’s have a look at the demonstration. How do you write this character?

The third character is chi which means eat and you can see it’s a left and right structured character. The left bit is like a square which is like a mouse component in Chinese and it represents something to do with mouse. So eat is an action that has to do with mouse and it has a mouse component. The fourth character is chi which means chicken. It is a left and right structured character. You can see that the right component is so called a bird component and it represents a bird and looks like a bird. So how do you write this character? Let’s have a look at the demonstration.

The last character is meat and it does look like a piece of meat. This is like a single component. So let’s have a look at the demonstration. How do you write this character?

So let’s have a look at the whole sentence for three times. Wo yao chi ji rou. I want eat chicken meat.
