Hi! I am Tommy Joiner, I am with FORD artist I will show you guys how to do a sexiest, sophisticated prom look. I like to keep everything matte especially if you are going to be out for a long period of time and you want it to stay. So I am going to use a shimmering, this is actually an eye shadow but you can use any kind of highlighter product that is just a little bit lighter than your skin tone.
So over the cheek bones, bridge of the nose, the brow bone and then also on the inner corners of the eye. If you want you can even cover the entire eyelid on this way when you are done you could powder your entire and you are still going to look dewy in the areas that you want to.
So for blush, we are going to use a shimmering powder supposed to a gel or cream because it again it will be going last the longest. There is a general rule if you have a wide face you want to keep the blush to the outside if you have skinny face like myself you want to do it shred on the apples of the cheek. Jen here has a perfect face so we are going to do it somewhere in the middle with that so just right on the apples and then just taking it back across the cheek bone. Black pencil, we are going to do a really sexy kind a Angelina Jolie kind of eyeliner and the easiest way to do eyeliner and not have it weird is to put the pencil right in between the eyelashes. And then just draw a line out exactly where you want it and then do the same thing on the other side to make sure that it is the same before you do anything more so then you have to back track.
So you do not want to take it out too far or you will be doing an Aimee Wine house thing which more power to her but that is not what we are going to do today. So once you done that we are going to line just the outer part of the eye on the inside not the whole thing just the outside and then we are going to just line the outer part of the upper eye line. Then take a cue tip because you do not want any harsh lines you just blend this up. But then again not taking it too far and now once you have done the eyeliner if you just leave it like that it is just going to slide out of your face.
So you going to take some kind of powder, the said that either a translucent powder or more even an eye shadow but you know you do not want it too be too dark or if you do it too light then it is going to cover it up. So I like to take just a medium brown and then just kind a dab it really lightly on the pencil. And I am only putting powder in blending upwards not down it is okay if the bottom of the black line is a little more define in the top.
I may take the same color that I use on the top and underneath the lashes just do a little bit at the lash line towards the outside. Okay with this look we are going to curl the lashes but just a little bit or again we want to keep the lines really straight out and not quite so up.
Well because you do not want to curl on too much for this look I did start at the base and work my way up kind of like you are supposed to. Just then press quite as hard as I normally would but it is important that work it out so you do not just get one kink in your eyelashes.
A good way to get mascara all the way to the base of the eyelashes when they are light like Jennifer’s is to just take a brush, just any kind of makeup brush cut it short and then you can actually dab it on to the mascara wand and just apply it with the brush instead of the wand. You are still going to use the wand afterwards but this is a good way to start just get it at the base and also access a bit of an eyeliner as well.
So now we are going to put mascara on, just start it at the base and if you get it on to gunk a good tip is just to take your fingers and just squeeze them like that. Same thing on the other side and again you just start at the base and then just wiggle it back and forth out and you want to make sure that you wait for that to dry before you put mascara on the bottom otherwise you going to get mascara on your upper eyelid.
I am also going to use fake eyelashes today which you should not be afraid off just try about the smallest one as you can. So what we are going to do here is instead of putting a full lash on we are just going to do a half a lash that makes that much easier to put it on yourself because usually the hardest is getting the inter corner to stick and then having it blend in with your eyeliner.
So I am going to cut about that much of the eyelash off so that we are just working with this and if you just put a little bit eyelash glue on the back of your hand let that set for about 10 minutes before you try to use it so we get tacky and makes sticking on a lot easier.
So you take the half lash that you have and you just dip the rim and the glue and shake it let it get tacky. And then you know this takes some practice so definitely do a run through before priming. And then you really you want to get it as close to the lash line as possible sometimes I even glue it to the lashes you just have to be careful when you are taking that off that you do not pull your lashes with it.
Now that is drying and we are going to do a little mascara on the bottom. I also like to dab the end of the brush on my hand or on actually not on the hand because that is hard to get off but dab it on something to get the extra soft so that it makes a lot easier to apply without getting it goopy.
If you want to make a little bit more dramatic you can take a little bit a black eye shadow and go over the pencil just to really make it pop. Okay this is driers can do on mascara, on the lashes. Now I am blending the fake lashes in with the real lashes which it just makes the whole thing jump out at you.
And you really want to make sure that you have enough mascara on the inner part of the lashes so that it does blend in well with the fake ones. Okay in with such a strong eye you want to keep the lid neutral which is more convenient anyway because you do not have to keep going on the bathroom to retouching it up.
So you just dab it on nothing to lip liner just want a little bit of stain, something peachy your pinky depending on your skin tone, and then there you have it.
