This is not fake, From being a cassette guy until the near obsolescence of cassette due to poverty, I have become quite familiar with the mechanical nature of cassettes, in order to scratch, you would need to lift the pinch roller and play with the rewind wheel, pulling the tape backwards, and to scratch foward, release backward the rewind wheel then the tensioner wheel pulls it foward, release the pinch roller to return to normal operation. For audio gating, in order to replay samples without the scratch, you need to somehow lift the head off the tape during rewind, or have a switch or volume control installed in easy reach access, as I can see that both hands are busy manipulating the tape when this guy is in action.

Not fake. Seen it live. This guy teaches a turntabilism class at Scottsdale Community College in AZ. Brought in two modified boom boxes. Did like 10 minutes worth. Greatest shit ever.

If you notice, when he does the fade, the beat goes with it. He just turned the volume down... Anyways, sick!

Would be awesome... besides the fact that he is "scratching&quo t; a tape of scratches and is too cheap to buy good video encoding software.
