How to Section the Hair to Prepare for Coloring

Peggy Ioakim: Hi! My name is Peggy Ioakim and I am with Erwin Gomez Salon & Spa located in the heart of George Town in Washington DC. Today, we are going to show you how to cover gray and brighten up your natural hair color. We are going to begin with sectioning the hair. We like to section it in four sections, from front to back and ear-to-ear. When you are done with sectioning the hairs in four sections, you can apply a cream like Vaseline base, along the hairline to protect your skin from the color that you are about to apply. By doing that you would like to put on your gloves and apply a cream base. This way, if you are coloring your hair with a darker color, it's not going to stain your skin and that's how you section the hair. Next I am going to show you how you apply the color.
