Oh yes, this one is going to be out of the park. Oh no, they talked about the new Red stadium, it is not going to be retro, it is not got to look very old. What happens if you want to take the door hardware in your house and make it look old.
Here is the standard lock set, guess what? You can buy solid brass hardware that actually takes your doors back a hundred years. You can get all kinds of really neat back plates and you can get doorknobs, even the old crystal ones and you know what the neatest thing is, is that they fit the existing holes that have already been pre-drilled in your old doors.
Now, how do you do it? It is really simple take your existing doorknobs usually they come off with just two screws. You take off the old hardware, pitch it, throw it away and then all you really have to do is slide in the doorknob spindles, the back plates, attach your doorknobs, and bingo, you have got an old looking door.
Now, the door hardware comes in all different styles and it is really readily available. If you want the extra touch do not forget to look at your hinges. You can actually buy solid brass door hinges and if you really want to go the extra mile, you can actually fit the top and the bottom of the hinges with special decorative caps. They are really attractive and your doors will be very good looking.
If you want to go the extra mile you can get some door hardware that has the old fashioned skeleton keys and the deadbolt locks. Remember, new hardware that looks like old is easy to get.
