Hi my name is Gwen Veere and I am here to help give you a couple of tips on how to make money through a consignment shop, this may seem strange, but I actually do this probably an average of five to eight times a year. The most easy way to guarantee good cash is to bring your clothes in that are appropriate for the season, for example if it is spring bring in your spring clothes early on and if it is summer bring them in for summer because what is going to happen is that people that own consignment shops, they want clothing that they can sell right now.
If it is summer do not bring them your winter clothes, because they do not want it, unless if it is the very end then they may and the good thing is, is to call ahead and see what they may need because you want to make it as easy for you and for them. And also, make sure that you know what percentage you are actually going to get from your clothing and see if there is a bigger room, maybe you can negotiate, maybe they give you a 60-40 or you could do maybe 50-50 and see if there is added incentive for bringing name brands.
No matter what, you will be happy to get that check. Oh, before I go I should also say find out how long that turn around time is, because some places will make you wait up to three months. But anyways, no matter what you do it is good to get the money back.
So, good luck spending that money on some new clothes and remember you can do it all year round if you plan accordingly and it is a good friendship to have your local consignment store.
